LAIDLEY ST. RESIDENCE
San Francisco, CA
completed 2004
This house is state of the art in every way. From its shotcrete retaining walls, to the radiant floors, glass walls, and engineered maple floors, it planning and detailing are meticulous. It is inspired by the work of the early twentieth century master, R.M. Schindler, whose work was predominantly in Southern California. The owner once lived in a house by Schindler and wanted to recreate it on a superb lot in San Francisco's Fairmount Heights District. Our challenge is to honor the early modern styling while creating a building that functions at the highest levels.
